A bird died in my back porch today

Today, I went to Eliza's new house. Her mom picked me up and drove me there. It's a good house, better than her old one, and definitely bigger too. I helped her organize and fold her clothes and also clear out a small bit of clutter. We also watched ponies. ^.^

Mexico: Day 14 and going home!

I'm home right now! It feel really nice, and Sadie was soo happy.
Yesterday, I was still in Mexico City though. We went to the Zoo early in the morning but a lot of the animals weren't out... Especially the rainforest animals, like tapirs and jaguars. There were a lot of african animals and birds though. We first went in to the the butterfly and insect exhibit. I got to hold a scorpion. With the butterflies, we all got to release one that hatched from its cocoon recently.
There was a butterfly that got its wing stuck in a puddle and so I picked it up and let it dry off before putting it on a plant.

There were a bunch of white ones that liked to land on my shoes, dunno why.

I found a unicorn...

The bird section smelled horrible and the panda section was really empty.
Just for you, Julia
This monkey was adorable.
We walked around until about 3 in the afternoon. Then we went... Somewhere. I can't quite remember...
Maybe a market?
But it was closed?

After that we went to the popular art museum gift shot. Not the museum itself, just the gift shop. They had a bunch of cute (but expensive) things. My sister bought a straw pencil case.

After that we went back and packed. Our flight was at 7:50 in the morning, which is 5:50 here, so we had to get up at 4 AM (2 AM here).
The flights weren't bad, just long. Especially the second one, when I couldn't sleep. There was this indian family behind us with a baby that they kept talking to and it was squealing and stuff. Annoyinggg...

But now I am home and dreading school. Ah well.

Mexico: Day 13

I am sooo tired today.
I felt really sick most of the time. Not feverish, but my stomach hurt, especially when I was moving. And we were taking a walking tour.
We first went to some sort of house/museum of some lady called Dolores Olmedo. It was on this huge property, which had peacocks running around everywhere. Most of the peahens had little babies, one even had five following her. We also went to see if they had their rare hairless doggies (Xoloitzcuintli) out in the yard, but since it had been raining, none of them were. One of the worker guys decided to bring one out for us to pet. The dog was really sweet and excited and very jumpy. Later I found out that she was one of the taller ones, all the others were shorter and fatter. Still cute ^.^
The museum wasn't too enjoyable for me because I was so uncomfortable.

Then we walked through some market for lunch. I didn't eat much, but it was still pretty cool. I still need to find something for Emma though... The thing I got for her melted in to this weird rainbow mess. Oh wait, I have lollipops. She'd like that, right?

Then we went to Frida Kahlo's house. She's really weird and kinda creepy sometimes. I wonder who that reminds me of...
They had cats there and it was a nice house kinda, just had a bunch of weird colors and it was really wet because of the rain.
And we visited another market, which was smaller and stopped for churros at some cafe. We also went to some store and bought pretty apple/strawberry/pineapple/coke bottle shaped jelly candies. Really cute, and it's not like they're flat either.
And a kindersurprise :D

We ate at some high class restaurant that wasn't bad, but I just don't like mole or corn flour... I'm getting sick of corn. Really grainy and bland-ish. Ah well.

I'm leaving the morning after tomorrow, Ill see Sadie soon! :D

Mexico: Day 12

Today we had to get up early again because my mom hired a tour guide to take us places. Her son drove us. The tour guide was small and old, but she was a lot more friendly than the tour guide yesterday. Her son had a hairdo like Skrillex... But it was curly and none of it was shaved. And he had a lip ring. And he looked middle-eastern. And SUPER TALL. It was kinda scary.

The first place we went to was some sort of ruins. No one was allowed in, but we could look over it. A little boring because there wasn't much to it. It was also really early and I was tired.
After that, we went to some sort of church and the tour guide told us about the virgin of Guadalupe.
Then we went to Teotihuacan. It was really big and old and had a lot of stairs. We climbed to the top of the sun temple, I think, and I found some obsidian fragments.
Walking around, I felt something wet drop on my leg. Okay, I thought it was some water. Then I looked back and saw some sort of orangish substance. Fine, I thought a bird had dropped something on me. Strange thing was that there were no birds around. I walked around and tried to scrape it off of some rocks, only to turn back and see a large puddle of barf the same color as the substance that was on my leg.

SOMEONE PUKED ON ME. GROSS.
UGH.

Then we climbed down to walk to the moon temple, I think. But only my mom went up that one to take pictures. I found more obsidian. I really like obsidian. It's sooo pretty.
After that we went for lunch at a small restaurant. The food was pretty good, just some of it wasn't stuff I like, like tuna and overcooked beef.

We went back to the hotel after that and just stayed there for the rest of the day. Later on, I started feeling sick, but I didn't barf. My sister did though, so I drowned it out with ponies. Ugh, barf. I had a piece of cake for dinner because it was free and I didn't have much of an appetite.

Mexico: Day 11

Today we had to get up early. I'm not quite sure why, because we were going to go visit the anthropology museum. It was kinda boring, but my mom hired a tour guide. She was nice-ish, old-ish, and had to walk with a cane. We also had lunch at the museum, but it was really bad. And expensive. That is the worse kind of bad.
After that, we wet back to all the exhibits cus the tour guide didnt show us a lot. Still a bit boring though. I amused myself by taking pictures of statues with weird thingies where thingies should be, like a hat.

Found this one amusing.

Hehe.
There was also a guy who looked like someone I know.
Kinda weird.

No, really weird.

Then we went to some square, which was next to their old presidential building. It was old and had a few Diego Rivera pictures, one of which included a guy selling an arm to a woman.
... O.o

I just had to go down to the lobby and watch my sister try to explain to two mexican hotel workers what a plunger is. Hilarity ensues. She ended up having to draw it.
Why?
Because someone clogged the toilet.

Not me.

Anyways, after that, we saw a bunch of military people do somesort of marching thing. All of them were guys, and some weren't bad looking.
I think my lack of interaction with guys is affecting me negatively.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Anyways, walking down a pedestrian-only street, we stopped to get ice cream. We only got one cone to share because my mom got pissed off because we couldn't make a decision. We were originally going to get two.
We tried walking to the popular art museum, but by the time we got there, the place was closed. And we had walked so far... Gahh.
We had dinner at a small restaurant.
And now I'm here.

Mexico city is a weird city. You know, the other day, I found a pigeon head. No body. Just the head. Cleanly cut off. With ants all over it. It was a sad picture. The roads here are so confusing, some of them you have no idea when to cross and stuff like that. People just go when there's nothing stopping them.

Mexico: Day 10

At breakfast, my mo had this conversation with a guy who was from Seattle- he taught archaeology at UW.
I walked the doggie that was at the hotel. Her name is Abril, which means April in spanish. She's a puller, but she can be a good walker. But she peed like... 8 times and also stopped to chew grass a lot. We got lost on the way back. After that, we had to check out of the hotel and I said bye to Abril.
Then we checked in to the next hotel, which was a Sheraton. The room isn't bad, but... Not as good as the first two. The view here sucks too, because theres this ugly dirty building in front of our window. Then we walked out to try to find somewhere to eat. My mom had this marvelous idea to find somewhere to eat at a flower market. We couldn't find any place to eat until half an hour after we arrived. It was okay, but I'm not a big fan of mole or refried beans. Then when we went back in to the market, my mom decided to buy a small bunch of jasmine flowers. They smell really good. But then, after walking around, we ended up in the food court.

Wow.
I ended up buying some gum for Eliza there too, since that was what she requested. Everything at the market was so cheap, my mom couldn't believe it. Less than one US dollar for that bunch of flowers. We also bought some fruit and a cute rainbow grocery bag.
Afterwards, we went to an art market, where I bought more souviners. They're really nice, but I still have no idea what to get for Emma. She asked for something that would "blow her little mind." But Emma is so picky and hard to please! -.-
Well, I guess she's not when you're Nicole, or Julia, or pretty much anyone else. BAHAHAHAHAH.
My mom got tired so we sat down at this restaurant and she got coffee. The coffee wasn't like the one in the states, no, this was sweet and cinnamony without adding sugar or milk. It was really good.
On the way back, my mom got random food, it was okay but not wonderful.
I like dogs though. I scared one because it was sniffing me and I didnt see it and I thought it was a fly so I lifted my foot up really quicky and almost kicked it. D: It was so cute.
Abril looks possessed.
Some guys here are pretty attractive. Others, not so much. Hehe. Most of them use hair gel. My mom thinks that the guys at the old hotel were gay. The owners are, but I don't know about the workers.

Mexico: Day 9

Since we stay at a really nice bed and breakfast place, they had a good breakfast here. The doggie was also walking around, greeting people and asking for treats. ^.^
Then we went out around noon, and walked by this park filled with dogs running around, barking, and some were having training lessons too. We walked some more and ended up in some sort of sidewalk that had a bunch of people selling cheap things. Not only do they shout advertisements, but they also make loud noises and such if they're selling that kind of thing. Kinda annoying, but some things were really weird, like an apron with fake boobs attached to them. O.o
After lunch at some crappy outdoor food court, my mom dragged us to some sort of ex-government building. More than half of it was blocked off to the public and the rest was turned in to some sort of art museum.
My mom also forced us to go to a folk dance show thing. She bought the tickets an hour before it started. -.-
It was kinda boring, but the dresses and people were pretty. Well, most of the people. One of the guys looked like the monkey king. After the show, we went to a square and some native people were protesting. Also, there was a spaniel puppy, still awkward and really clumsy. She licked my finger.

We almost got lost on our way to dinner and the restaurant we were going to had closed, so we bought food from a convenience store. Yay.
We're switching hotels again tomorrow.

Mexico: Day 8

Today was my last day in Puerto Vallarta. Our flight to Mexico City was a 5 in the afternoon though, so my mom had us go swim in the pool after we checked out of our room. I also collected some more seashells. Maybe I can give those as souvenirs too ^.^
When we got to the airport, we couldn't find our flight. My mom was hungry so she took us to a restaurant and after that, we found the flight. It was a small cheap flight by a small cheap company. There were a lot of small children on the plane, almost all of them crying or screaming or both. We also didn't have assigned seats, so I sat in the very front isle and my sister and my mom sat in the back.
Across the isle from me was a family with two kids. They had a girl, who kept repeating random phrases (that seemingly came out of nowhere) at annoying tones. They also had a boy, who was barely able to talk and walk, who liked to rip and throw things and yell. Also, I swear, his voice could be heard from the very back of the plane. I call him the Dorito Monster, because he eats doritos like the cookie monster eats cookies- Half of it doesn't even make it to the mouth. Sometimes he would stop what he was doing and then stare at me with the biggest eyes.

The male flight attendant wasn't too bad. ;)
XD

We're staying at a bed and breakfast right now, and it's really cute and the service is good. They have a dog here! She's a lab, but I couldn't really understand her name... She loves to be scratched on the butt and is always wagging. When we were standing outside, she came out to greet us.

My mom was hungry again so we went to this taco place, but no one spoke english there, so it was really funny to watch my mom unintentionally confuse the waiter. Horchata is really good though... Yeap.

Mexico: Day 7

I didn't do much today. We were able to sleep in today because yesterday was our last tour. After waking up we went to the beach and I walked around looking for pretty shells. My mom also decided to take the opportunity to take a billion pictures of my sister and I while making us take pictures of her and listen to her complain about how fat she looks in pictures.
Walking in the waves is really fun though, and it makes mosquito bite feel better temporarily. SO ITCHY AND SWOLLEN.

Then we went back to the hotel because it was too hot. We were going to snorkel... But tomorrow we will.

WHY CAN'T MY MOTHER SPELL? SERIOUSLY.

There was a vulture on the balcony and it just chilled there. It was laying down when we left.
We went to downtown Vallarta so my mom could eat some sort of all-you-can-eat fish and chips special. I had a really good burger. Then we walked around but it was really hot and uncomfortable so we ran around in to random shops until we found this chocolate shop and bought two truffles. One was passion fruit and one was dark chocolate with sea salt. Passion fruit is soo good!!

We ended up sitting in a frozen yogurt shop for an hour and took random pictures of each other. Following that, I walked on the beach and picked up some sea glass. There was this one really round piece, but all of them were kinda small. I also found a cool rock. My mom dragged us to a flea market, which was filled with a bunch of the same stuff. I got a souvenir for someone (Hehe Juliaaa). Still need to find the rest though. My mom also won't let me buy mexican gum for Eliza.
We walked around more and it ended up raining really hard on us and so we just stood there under a bridge. Then we walked back to... I dunno what it's called, centro? Anyways, there was this clown show going on and my mom and my sister watched, but I hate clowns so I took pictures of the ocean. Then it started raining again and then the show moved somewhere else that was under cover outside a building. I stood on the steps and red rovered a couple. XD

Then we went to this tapas place that had really good tapas and lizards everywhere. But... MOSQUITOES. I GOT THREE NEW BITES TODAY ON MY FEET, ONE ON THE TIP OF MY BIG TOE. They'll suck blood anywhere you didn't apply bug repellent on your legs. Ugh. From now on, I hafta apply on the bottom of my feet too, or else I won't be able to walk. That's dumb.

This was yesterday.
I think I'll upload pictures when I get home. What's unfair is that my mom keeps pressuring me to give the laptop to my sister so she can feed her fake dogs but when I need the computer she does nothing. HILARIOUS.

Mexico: Day 6

Upon waking up, we had to hurry to the maritime terminal today for our last tour. Normally, at the terminal, there are guys walking around with parrots and they take pictures of you holding them. Not this time. This time, they had a sea lion performing tricks that you could pet. SO CUTE. It looked so eager to perform tricks... But I didn't get too close because we were waiting for our boat.
I didn't get seasick today because I took Dramamine. Is that how it's spelled?

When we got to our first destination, the Majahuitas, I went snorkeling and took pictures with my camera (waterproof!) but the pictures were so ugly because the water was ugly. Trash. EVERYWHERE. Plastic stuff floating, wood, murky water, and the fish weren't too pretty either. I think I only got one good picture.

The one good picture.

Then we had lunch and went to the Yelapas. There were two groups, one for beach and one for a walk to the waterfall. I went to the beach while my sister and my mom went to the other one. I went horseback riding too! My horse was okay, except he/she kept driving me in to overhanging trees and vines. -.- The horse guy had this puppy whose name I think is Oso or something... But he was ADORABLE. He followed his owner everywhere and even swam through the water with the horses.
We rode through the village to... The same waterfall my mom and my sister went to. But they were leaving as we came, so that was good. The waterfall was really pretty and cold. After some time, we returned to the beach and I walked around picking up seaglass. There was sooo much seaglass, everywhere you look, theres seaglass. It ended up raining quite hard, but luckily that was when the boat came. I fell asleep on the way back... And slept for almost the entire time.

We had a bunch of shrimp for dinner, but it was good shrimp. The appetizer was... Grr. We got some sort of grilled cactus, which was good, but there was also a grilled pepper. Okay, right? WRONG. NO ONE told me NOT to eat the seeds, which would cause TONGUE-BURNING PAIINNNN. It was hell... No amount of water or naranjado would calm the fire.
I think I also got some of the spiciness in my eyes...
